Boxing Day Swim - At the Ready!
The Mayor lends her support to the Annual Tenby Boxing Day Swim which this year celebrates 40 years of raising funds for Charity. Appropriately named THE BIG RED SWIM it is hoped to make this year a very special event with the principle charity being Ty Hafan Childrens' Hospice.
Britain in Bloom Awards Birmingham
29th October 2010 Britain in Bloom Awards Birmingham where Cllr Sue Lane Tenby in Bloom Chair and Cllr Tish Rossiter received the framed Silver Gilt Award from the Royal Horticultural Society official.
IRON MAN WALES 2011
The 25th September saw the announcment that Tenby had been selected as the venue for the International Iron Man Competition to be held on Sunday Septmber 11th 2011. Organised by the World Triathlon Corporation it will attract some 2000 competitors, the top 50 of whom will be eligible to participate in the World Finals to be held in Hawaii 2012. With a total prize money of $25,000 Iron Man Wales starts with a 2.4 mile swim at South Beach Tenby, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, followed by a 26.2 mile run ending back in Tenby. The race starts a 0700hrs. Entries have already been received from across the globe including the USA, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Argentina, South Africa, Mexico and Uzbekistan. The event will also include some local triathletes.
THE LONG COURSE WEEKEND
The 24th September saw the start of the Wales Swim marathon weekend held in Tenby for the first time in its history. Over 200 competitors took part in the swim from across Wales. It was an enormous success. Pictured below include Town and County Councillor (and competitor) Mike Evans with Mayor.
HISTORIC INVITATION TO CALDEY ISLAND
On 23rd September 2010 the Mayor and Consort were welcomed to Caldey Island by Father Daniel. The visit was hosted in the Monastic guest house of Caldey where the Mayor and Consort enjoyed tea with the monks and gifts were exchanged.
Battle of Britain Service, St Mary's Church Tenby

Saturday 4th September saw a Charity Swim event take place at Tenby Harbour. The Big Swim organised by Mr William Davies of Bristol raised money for the Alzheimers Society. Following the swim a reception was held at the Mayors Parlour where certificates were presented to those who took part including a certificate to Richard Young who had completed the Tenby to Caldey Swim earlier in the year.

SUMMER EVENTS PROGRAMME
The Annual Summer Events took place at Tenby Harbour attracting large crowds. The events included The Arts Festival, The Lions Paella Festival and Parties on the Beach held by Tenby Round Table and the Rotary Club of Tenby. The Mayor Councillor Julie Evans was on hand to open each event welcoming visitors and locals alike to what has become part of the Tenby Summer entertainment programme.
TENBY IN BLOOM SUCCESS
2010 has been an outstanding year for the Tenby in Bloom Committee and Pembrokeshire County Council, with Tenby winning Wales in Bloom and receiving a Silver Gilt Award in Britain in Bloom.
Tenby Golf Club Open Week
100 YEARS OF GIRLGUIDING
This year Tenby Brownies celebrated 100 years of Girlguiding and during the year were invited to the Mayors Parlour where they took part in a special council meeting chaired by the Mayor. There were some very challenging questions! Following this the brownies were given a tour of the Council Chamber which included a walk onto the old town walls.
On the 18th July 2010 the Mayor's Civic Service was held at St Marys Church Tenby. A large gathering of fellow Mayors from across Pembrokeshire, together with local organisations including Army and Sea Cadets, Brownies and Guides made this a very colourful and enjoyable occasion. HRH DUKE OF KENT VISITS TENBY
July 9th saw a visit to Tenby Lifeboat Station by HRH the Duke of Kent where he named the Victor Freeman, the relief Tamar Class Lifeboat, in a private naming ceremony attended by the Mayor, the Hon. Robin Lewis, Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed and Mr David Pryse Lloyd, High Sheriff of Dyfed and invited guests.

ROYAL VISIT TO TENBY
The 30th June 2010 was a special day for Tenby when His Royal Highness Prince Charles accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall visited the town as part of the Pembrokeshire Fish week celebrations. Welcomed by the Mayor Cllr Julie Evans, they saw Tenby at its sunny best and were greeted by large crowds during a walkabout.
VISIT OF ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY
Sunday 27th June 210 saw a visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury to St Marys's Church Tenby as part of the 800th year celebrations.
ARMED FORCES DAY

FAREWELL to 10 (ASSAYE) BATTERY, ROYAL ARTILLERY
Saturday 5th June 2010 saw a large crowd gather in Tudor Square to bid farewell to soldiers from 10 (Assaye) Battery Royal Artillery who were leaving Penally and Manorbier training camps after an association with the town of Tenby for some 30 years. The Mayor Cllr Julie Evans thanked them for the many community projects they had contributed to within the town over many years. She wished them well and on their forthcoming deployment to Afghanistan and wished them a safe return.
THE ANNUAL CARTEN 100 CHARITY CYCLE RIDE
Saturday 8th May 2010 saw the Annual Carten 100 Cardiff to Tenby Charity Cycle ride. Greeted by the Mayor on their arrival in Tudor Square, this group have raised in excess of £27,000 for Charity.
